Day 8 Garden of the God's and The Front Range Inn, Denver Colorado
We got an early start to the Garden of the God's to beat the heat. It was only 12 minutes from our campground. We first took Virgil for a hike. He has been doing amazingly well with all the new environments we have put him in. It was already very crowded when we got there. He remained calm with everything. After the hike to the Balanced Rock with Virgil we headed out on our bikes to explore. There thankfully was a bike lane. There was a one way road that encircled the Garden. You would round the bend and a huge outcropping would be before you. It was breath taking beautiful. We rode to the Visitors Center and were thankful we were on bikes as there was quite a backup of cars and no open parking spaces. They had alot of interesting exhibits in the visitor center/museum. For instance, a dinosaur found only in the Garden was discovered in 1878. It was mistakenly classified initially. We finished up exploring by visiting the Trading Post. I couldn't resist getting some Native American made jewelry, earrings and a bracelet. We then took off for the Front Range Inn Harvest Host site an hour and a half north. We were fortunate enough to have Kristen come have dinner with us at the Inn. She is one busy gal. It was so noisy in the Inn it was hard to hear our conversation even with our hearing aides. I did not get a chance to catch up with Kristen when down for Michelle's wedding so it was quite nice to hear of her and Josh's recent life events. Kristen left dinner to go stay with Josh in his newly purchased RV in Winter Park. He also had gotten mountain bikes for them both so she was excited to get there. I am glad we got a chance to meet up with her. I sure can see why she likes living in Colorado. As to our night in the parking lot, it is on a busy road and we weren't able to use our ac so had all our windows open. It was quite noisy and very warm to start but cooled off nicely during the night. We woke up to another Ekko parked in the lot. They must of come in during the night.
