Day 6 Lone Duck Campground, Cascade, Colorado

Today was the longest driving day and Scott drove most of it.  There were numerous lane closures again that were dicey to navigate. I drove the last part that was through the mountains.  Beautiful but nerve racking.  Because we were worried about roads that might not be good for our camper we were following directions geared specifically for our camper.  What a joke.  It had me make a turn on a road much worse than the one the normal GPS said to take.  I then overshot the entrance to the campground.  Scott took over and got us into the campground.  It is very small and nestled between the road and the mountain.  No special stops taken.  What a welcomed change in weather.  By the time we ate dinner it was actually cool out.  Virgil is missing being off leash and able to run.  I am having a hard time adjusting to central time, falling asleep at 7:30 and getting up at 3:30.  I am trying to work out a way to meet with Kristen while we are here.

I forgot to mention the change in scenery,  instead of corn fields as far as the eye can see, it is windmills and cattle.  My pictures don't capture how amazing it is.There is one picture of the threatening sky taken in a Walmart parking lot.  I don't know if you can also see the bug splattered windshield.  There was a quick intense thunderstorm at the campground too.  Not much rain with it but alot of lightning and thunder.
